Private Feldenkrais Sessions for Adults

“Make the impossible possible, the possible easy, the easy elegant.”
“Through awareness, we can learn to move with astonishing lightness and freedom at almost any age.”
 – Moshe Feldenkrais
Private sessions are a great opportunity to address each client’s specific concerns. You can schedule private sessions at one of three NYC offices: offices located in Chelsea, Park Slope, and Williamsburg.

What to expect during a Feldenkrais session

During the session, I provide non-intrusive feedback through gentle touch and subtle movement. This feedback helps your brain and nervous system naturally discover greater ease and freedom of movement. As a client you don’t need to keep track of the movements or remember them process – the changes will happen on an unconscious level and naturally integrate into your daily life. As the session progresses, unnecessary tension is released, breathing becomes easier, and your overall state becomes more balanced and grounded. In addition to these general shifts, each session will have a more specific focus that is unique for each client.

Un-Forced Does Not Mean Random or Slow

During the session, changes happen naturally from within your own the person’s nervous system. My goal as a practitioner is to provide the feedback through touch.
Because human nervous system is highly tremendously intelligent, there is no need to for corrective adjustments. But this does not mean the process is random or slow.

Throughout the entire session practitioner provides very precise feedback that is most relevant for the client at a given moment, taking into account their goals, level of health and fitness, personal preferences, posture and movement habits. This type of feedback Because it is your body making the changes, they are very specific and often leads to improvements that exceed client’s expectations (and quite often practitioner’s expectations too!)

Lasting Change – Not a Quick Fix

It’s easier for your nervous system to integrate its own discoveries than changes imposed from the outside. Corrective adjustments take longer to integrate and often fail because trying to correct undesirable movement habits might actually reinforce them.

My focus is always to help my clients find that they feel more physically and emotionally balanced on a daily basis, even after a short session.

Physical and Emotional Benefits

Some people are drawn to the Feldenkrais Method to address physical concerns related to their posture or movement. Others want to feel more balanced emotionally and feel more in tune with their body. Because the focus is on working with the whole person, both physical and emotional changes happen simultaneously.
